Another Update On Repeal

Introduction of Full Repeal Now Slated for Tuesday of Next Week
— Six cosponsors already, we need more!

(Thursday, March 6) — As we told you yesterday, Rep. Helen Chenoweth is going to introduce a full repeal of the Lautenberg gun ban. Their office has now said that will occur Tuesday of next week. She has six original cosponsors already, and if you act quickly, she’ll have more (see below).

Again, everyone has been great so far. GOA has been in constant contact with the Hill yesterday and today, and they are still amazed at the volume of calls.

Since there’s not even a bill number yet, Representatives have been forced to contact Rep. Chenoweth to find out what is happening– all as a result of your actions.

IF YOU HAVEN’T ACTED YET, HERE’S WHAT TO DO:

Call your Representative right away and urge him or her to become an original cosponsor of Helen Chenoweth’s bill. As we understand right now, the deadline for original cosponsorship will be sometime Tuesday. If your representative is unfamiliar with her proposal, they can call her office for more information. Call your Representative at 202-225-3121. Or you can also reach them at 1-800-962-3524 or 1-800-972-3524, but be prepared to let the phone ring a few times. If you elect to send e-mail, be certain to include your complete mailing address so you can be identified as a constituent.

WHO HAS COSPONSORED THE CHENOWETH BILL ALREADY?

1. Rep. Ron Paul (TX)

2. Rep. Joe Skeen (NM)

3. Rep. Tom Coburn (OK)

4. Rep. John Hostettler (IN)

5. Rep. Jim Gibbons (NV)

6. Rep. Don Young (AK)

Folks, there’s still a lot of good, pro-gun Reps. that should be on that list. Go get ’em.
