Elderly Man Killed Masked Suspect with Gun That Hadn’t Been Fired in 30 Years

When an 81-year-old homeowner shot and killed a home invasion suspect in early November, he did so with a gun that had not been fired in 30 years.

Breitbart News originally reported the elderly man’s actions on November 7, but a WPXI 11 report sheds more light about the type of gun used and the number of decades the gun lay untouched in the gentleman’s home.

According to WPXI 11, Uniontown police said the suspect “rode a bike to the house with tools to break in, then ransacked the home and assaulted the 81-year-old man.” Police Lt. Tom Kolencik said, “Once the actor came into his bedroom, the actor was demanding to know where money was. [The homeowner] told them he didn’t have any money or anything of value in the home.”

A struggle ensued between the suspect and the elderly gentleman. It ended when the elderly man grabbed a gun chambered in “.22 caliber” and fired one shot.
