This Should Finally be the Year for Constitutional Carry!

Dear Friend:

New Hampshire is on the verge of enacting Constitutional Carry — and of placing itself among the most pro-gun states in the country.

The principle behind Constitutional Carry is simple:  You should not be required to get the government’s “permission” in order to exercise your Second Amendment rights to protect yourself, your family or your community.

Under Senate Bill 12, introduced by Senator Jeb Bradley (R), you would still be able to obtain a permit, if you chose, for purposes of reciprocity or for carrying in “safety-free” school zones.

But you would NOT be required to obtain a permit in order to carry concealed in New Hampshire.

And I should point out another important development at the federal level.  The legislation in Congress to grant reciprocity — introduced by Rep. Richard Hudson (R-NC) — would allow non-permit holders from Constitutional Carry states to carry without a permit ANYWHERE IN THE COUNTRY.

This legislation will easily pass the House, and it has passed the Senate in recent years with almost 60 votes.

President-elect Donald Trump has indicated that he will sign this legislation when it reaches his desk.

You and I know that Constitutional Carry states are some of the safest states in the country.  Just look at Maine and Vermont, with their low crime rates, as well as the other states which enjoy Constitutional Carry.

For example, West Virginia just enacted permitless carry last year.  A half year later, law enforcement says they have “not noticed an increase in gun violence since the law went into effect six months ago.”

This should not be a surprise. Arizona enacted Constitutional Carry in 2010 and saw its murder rate decline by 30% in the first five years.

Citizens benefit when states recognize their residents’ God-given rights to protect themselves against criminals.

The bottom line is this:  We are on the verge of enacting Constitutional Carry in New Hampshire.  We believe we have the support of both Houses of the legislature — and of the incoming governor.

But we need your voice at hearings this Tuesday (tomorrow).

So please show up and testify on behalf of Senate Bill 12 before the New Hampshire Senate Judiciary Committee on Tuesday, January 10, at 9:00 a.m., in Room 100 in the State House, 107 North Main Street, Concord, 03301.

Also, please urge your state senator to support SB 12
