Alleged Car Thief Picks Wrong Car, Gets Held At Gunpoint Until Police Arrive

On Memorial Day, an alleged car thief in Willimantic, Connecticut, picked the wrong car and was held at gunpoint by the car’s owner until police arrived.

The incident occurred in the afternoon.

According to NBC Connecticut, a resident was standing in his own front yard when he noticed 39-year-old Tye Wiegel allegedly trying to break into his car. The resident yelled for Wiegel to leave the car alone but was ignored. So the resident retrieved his gun and went to confront the alleged thief.
