Guns Would “Soon be Everywhere” Under Bill to be Voted on by the GA Senate — Contact your state senator immediately!

If the Georgia state senate passes HB 875 over the next couple of days, the anti-gunners will be running for the hills!

The ultra-liberal rag of a magazine, Mother Jones, laments that HB 875 is a “sweeping bill” that would allow guns to “soon be everywhere in Georgia.”

Well, you know what they say about “the enemy of my enemy.”

HB 875, introduced by Rep. Rick Jasperse (R-Jasper), would relax many gun control restrictions, as it:

* Allows concealed carry holders to possess firearms in K-12 schools (under certain circumstances), churches, bars, and the non-secured areas in airports and government buildings;

* Removes fingerprint requirements (for carry license renewals); and, for many citizens, lowers the age to get a CCW from 21 to 18 years of age;

* Prohibits state officials from confiscating firearms during a declared state of emergency;

* Strengthens the Stand Your Ground protections; and much, much more.

While we have some problems with the NICS reporting requirement in HB 875 — and the bill doesn’t go as far as we would like in allowing the protection of school children — the bill has many offsetting good things and is being opposed by the anti-gun Bloomberg group, Mayors Against Illegal Guns.

HB 875 has already been passed by the House.  And if the Senate passes it, we will then be one step closer to the Governor’s desk.

So please distribute this alert to all your pro-gun friends and family and, then, be sure to take action!

Dear Senator:

I stand with Gun Owners of America in support of HB 875, which was introduced by Rep. Rick Jasperse (R-Jasper).

This bill reinforces our Second Amendment rights, as it would relax many gun control restrictions.  HB 875:

* Allows concealed carry holders to possess firearms in K-12 schools (under certain circumstances), churches, bars, and the non-secured areas in airports and government buildings;

* Removes fingerprint requirements (for carry license renewals); and, for many citizens, lowers the age to get a CCW from 21 to 18 years of age;

* Prohibits state officials from confiscating firearms during a declared state of emergency;

* Strengthens the Stand Your Ground protections; and much, much more.

While gun owners have some problems with the NICS reporting requirement in HB 875 — and the bill doesn’t go as far as GOA would like in allowing the protection of school children — the bill has many offsetting good things and is being opposed by the anti-gun Bloomberg group, Mayors Against Illegal Guns.

HB 875 advances my gun rights in many areas.  I encourage you to support it.

Sincerely,
